VERO is delighted to have been shortlisted for the Sport Agency of the Year at the 2010 Sport Industry Awards.

The Sport Industry Awards is one of Europe’s largest and most prestigious commercial sport awards, spanning marketing, PR, sponsorship, new media, publishing, advertising and design.

The short listing highlights a very successful year for VERO. During the last 12 months, VERO has gained a number of exciting new clients, including Christine Ohuruogu, EDF, Qatar 2022 – the organisation bidding to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup – the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Bid Committee and the Rio 2016 Organising Committee.

In October 2009, VERO’s work with the Rio 2016 Bid Committee came to fruition when Rio de Janeiro was selected as Host City of the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games – a historic decision which will bring the Games to South America for the first time. The victorious campaign has benefited Rio, Brazil and South America, and will continue to do for years to come, in terms of brand reputation, international recognition and now real investment.

VERO achieved further success when Rugby Sevens was voted for inclusion in the Olympic Programme, beginning with the 2016 Games. The result will release new funding for Rugby all over the world and see it on the school curriculum in many countries for the first time, supporting the International Rugby Board’s ambitions for the global growth of the sport.

Six agencies have been short listed in the Sport Agency of the Year category. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony taking place on Thursday 13th May 2010.
