VERO Communications, the specialist sport and business agency, has today announced three new consultant appointments and its most recent client wins.
Clair Ashley, formerly a Senior Consultant with Brown Lloyd James and an Associate Director at Braben, has been appointed as a Director at VERO.
Clair previously headed the team responsible for all of Setanta’s consumer PR, including the Premier League, FA Cup and England fixtures, David Haye and Joe Calzaghe fights and IPL cricket. Her previous clients include NBC Universal, Metro, Disneyland Paris, The Royal Opera House and Talk Magazine.
Speaking of her appointment, Clair said; “VERO has a genuine track record, producing excellent client work for a number of successful, high-profile campaigns and I am delighted to be joining the team. For me, VERO is a leader within the sports industry and I am excited to be part of the growth and development of the company.”
In addition to Clair’s appointment, VERO have also announced today that Rania Wannous will join the team as a Consultant.
Rania currently provides PR, communications and strategic advice as a freelance consultant where her clients include Why Not? for Jamie Oliver Enterprises and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Specialising in sports communications and major events, Rania was previously employed as the Head of Media Relations for the ECB at the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup and as the Corporate Affairs & Communications Manager at Visit London.
Commenting on her appointment, Rania said; “The new client wins over the past few months have shown that VERO provides original and creative solutions to communications and campaigning within the sports industry. As the company looks to the future, I am excited to be part of the VERO team.”
VERO have also appointed William Shand as a Junior Consultant. A Sports Management M.Sc graduate of the University of Stirling, William has previous experience working with several high-profile Olympic athletes, having coached at a number of US swimming teams, including Auburn and Harvard University.

These new appointments follow a successful past few months for VERO, who have been shortlisted in the Global PR category for the forthcoming PR Week Awards. VERO’s nomination follows on the back of their work with the winning Rio 2016 Olympic bid.
VERO has also announced a number of new client wins, including; the International Cricket Council, EDF Energy and Event Wales. In addition, VERO has also been appointed to work on new projects with Rio 2016 and the International Rugby Board.
