VERO advises clients in the business of sport on major event bid strategy, election campaigning, communications programmes, international media relations, brand narrative development and positioning, media training, stakeholder relations, presentation and speech writing and the creation of campaign marketing collateral.

The agency was formed in 2006 and comprises a team of highly experienced senior consultants that have worked successfully in the business of sport and communications for many years.

Due to recent new business wins, VERO is currently looking to further expand its team of experienced professionals. The Consultant (equivalent to a PR agency Senior Account Manager or Account Director) will play a key role in driving some of our UK-based and international clients and actively collaborating in the development and management of communications campaigns.



  • Drive key client accounts including strategy development, implementation, client relationships and budget management
  • Day-to-day project management and responsible for forward campaign planning
  • Demonstrate strategic insights for existing client projects based on own experience/background
  • Contribute to new business development for VERO (e.g. identification of new opportunities, networking)
  • Develop new business proposals including allocation of resources, final proposal and necessary follow up with potential client
  • Management of client social/digital accounts
  • Contribute to financial management of client accounts
  • Line management and supervision of junior consultants


Skills, knowledge and experience-based characteristics

  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in sport communications/PR/PA industry (in-house or agency background, either with sports organisations, rights holders or brands)
  • First-hand experience in managing multi-channel external communication campaigns
  • Existing relationships and/or good knowledge of key journalists/influencers/bloggers and media outlets in the sports/Olympic world
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent writing skills (press releases, key messaging, content copy, client statements etc.)
  • Digital native
  • Strong desire to work in international sporting events/environments and willing to travel frequently
  • Focused, self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
  • Outstanding influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for sport and knowledge of current UK and international sporting landscape
  • Interested in contributing to the development of a growing small business
  • Additional languages desired but not required
