The Challenge
- Support the World Squash Federation in its bid to join the Olympic Sports Programme
- Grow the global profile of Squash with key Olympic, sports and international media
- Create an integrated campaign to raise awareness of the assets of Squash and how it has modernised as a sport
The Outcome
- Squash widely regarded as having ran the most pro-active and engaging communications strategy of all eight bidding sports
- In May 2013 Squash, Wrestling and Softball-Baseball shortlisted by the IOC to join Olympic Sports Programme
- Squash seen as delivering the most professional presentation @ the IOC Session in September 2013
- Squash continues to seek a place on the Olympic Sports Programme and has grown its profile and support to the International Sports community
VERO’s Role
- Develop a compelling Squash narrative and key messages
- Run a global media outreach programme to communicate innovations in Squash / why it would be an ideal addition to the Games
- Create stand out marketing collateral and campaign style films
- Advise on social media strategy & utilising players / bid ambassadors
- Script and create key speeches and presentations to the IOC
