DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA, 6 JULY 2011: The PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Bid Committee today claimed a historic victory as the Winter Games were awarded to a Korean city for the first time, and praised VERO Communications for the role the agency played in the successful campaign.

VERO, a leading international sports marketing and communications agency, had been working with PyeongChang 2018 since the beginning of campaign in February 2010, with a focus on campaign strategy development, key messaging, international media relations and media training.

VERO’s success with PyeongChang 2018 comes on the back of its winning work with the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Bid Committee, Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games Bid Committee, the International Rugby Board in its campaign to get Rugby Sevens into the Olympic Games, Glasgow’s successful bid for the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and New England Sports Ventures in its takeover of Liverpool FC.
