John was Head of Government Relations for the London 2012 Olympic bid where he led the organization’s relationship with UK politicians and key stakeholders, including government, London’s Mayor and opposition parties. He held a similar position at the London Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games. One of John’s current clients is Qatar 2022, the organization bidding to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup and he advises on international football/sport media relations strategy, message development, stakeholder engagement, press operations and major speech writing. Previously he was Head of Public Affairs at Sport England and Public Affairs Manager at broadcaster ITV Digital. John also has extensive consultancy experience in the business of sport. John joined VERO in March 2006 and is a public affairs, media relations and stakeholder communications expert with specific experience in major sport event bids.
