The Challenge
Support the Qatar 2022 Bid Committee in securing the selection of Qatar as Host Country of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
VERO’s Role
- Provide lead strategic counsel and advice to senior members of the Bid Committee on all key communications and marketing elements of the campaign
- Continually develop the bid campaign narrative and key messaging
- Lead the engagement with specialist football, bidding and sports media
- Devise and manage media and stakeholder engagement activities at key campaign moments, provide media training for senior bid leadership and help with presentation preparation and rehearsal
- Input into the development of major speeches and presentations
- Ensure that communications and marketing activities are fully coordinated and focused on winning the 2022 bid race
- Work with Qatar 2022’s communications team to promote the strategy and coordination of targeted media activities in FIFA Executive Committee member countries and Qatar 2022’s local communications agency for media activities in Qatar and the Middle East
The Outcome
Qatar named as Host Nation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
